Stucco (Evening Star 19 July 1927): ‘The main door, which is a work of art in itself, is embellished with a leadljght with a chaste design by a local artist, Mr W.J. Brook [sic – J.W. Brock], of the firm of Arnold, Brock, and Raffils, Ltd. Leaving the excellently conceived forecourt, which is, of course, devoid of the floral beauties to be after the landscape gardeners have had their say in the exterior embellishments, one naturally tip-toes into the entrance hall with the same feelings that one would have in intruding into some fairy palace.’
